About Digital Art Prints
The Digital Art Prints website serves as an index to a selection of artworks on the following Print On Demand (POD) websites:Redbubble.com, Society6.com, and VSUAL.co
The artworks indexed are those created by Jim Plaxco, the owner of this website.
What Are Digital Art Prints?
Digital art prints are works of art where the art itself was created digitally, most commonly through the use by the artist of a computer. Digital photography is one form of digital art. Examples of non-digital art would be oil paintings, watercolors, pastels, etc.
Much of the artwork that I create is done using software of my own design. Two examples of the creative categories of software would be algorithmic and generative. As a creative coder, the ability to create my own software to be used in the creation of digital art provides me with greater creative flexibility.
What Are Open Edition Art Prints?
The artworks shown on digital-art-prints.com are open edition prints. Whereas limited edition prints are restricted to a specified number of prints, with each print being uniquely identified, open edition prints are not limited. Because these artworks are open edition, they are priced accordingly which makes them much more affordable. As open edition prints, each artwork is available in a variety of sizes and printed on a variety of mediums - with paper, canvas, and metal being the most common options.
